Deadline: Warner Bros. Pictures Animation Ups Adam Galen To VP, Development

Story from Deadline:

Adam Galen has been promoted to Vice President of Development at Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, the division’s President Bill Damaschke announced on Tuesday.

In his elevated role, Galen will work alongside Susan Akinbola to lead the studio’s feature development slate, guiding projects from inception through greenlight, while collaborating closely with the company’s top-tier creative talent.

“Adam has an exceptional creative eye and a deep understanding of what it takes to shepherd a story from idea to screen,” said Damaschke. “His passion for animation, coupled with his ability to inspire and support our filmmakers, makes him an invaluable part of our executive team. With six films now in active production and exciting ambition for the future – I am thrilled to have Adam and Susan as the key leaders in creative development.”

Galen has been with Warner Bros. Pictures Animation for nearly two years, previously serving as a production executive, and as a creative consultant before that. Before joining the studio, he spent several years at Skydance Animation, where he played a key role in building the studio’s development slate and served as a core member of the Skydance Story Trust. Working closely with filmmakers on both films and TV series, he was integral in sourcing and acquiring new IP, also contributing creatively as a writer on The Search for WondLa, an animated series for Apple TV+.

Galen began his career at Preferred Content, a boutique firm specializing in independent film packaging and sales, where he rose from assistant to Creative Executive and helped build the company’s sales and production slate. He graduated from Arizona State University in 2014.
