Broadband TV News: Hynek Chudárek appointed director-general Czech Television

The Czech Television Council has elected Hynek Chudárek as the new director-general of Czech Television (ČT).

Hynek Chudárek joined Czech Television in 2012 as commercial director. He helped establish a commercial department within CT, focussing on the sale of commercial formats; advertising, sponsorship and product placement.

Other activities under his management include the sale of television rights and VOD rights in the country and abroad.

Following his education at the University of Chemical Technology in Prague he co-founded a company involved in the production of CD and DVD media. In 2002, Chudárek founded the music television Óčko, where he acted as a shareholder, member of the board of directors and executive director.

He also actively participated in the digitalization of the transition from analogue to digital broadcasting.

Chudárek will officially assume the role on 1 July 2025 and serve a six-year term.
