Broadband TV News: ShopLC celebrates milestone as it reaches four years on air in Germany

Story from Broadband TV News:

Home shopping channel ShopLC is marking four years of operations in Germany with ambitious growth plans and a strong social mission, having expanded its reach to nearly 46 million TV households across Germany and Austria.

The channel, a subsidiary of Indian parent company Vaibhav Global Group, has established a firm foothold in the German market since launching in July 2021. Its model – a 24-hour live shopping format produced in Düsseldorf – builds on the group’s previous successes in the UK and USA, where it operates The Jewelry Channel (TJC) and other ShopLC-branded services

The channel is available on nearly all major German and Austrian cable platforms including Vodafone, PŸUR, DNMG, Magenta Telekom and Kabel Plus as well as on DTT platform Freenet TV Connect and via satellite on Astra (19.2° East). Broadcasting in both HD and SD resolution, ShopLC’s wide distribution has played a central role in its market penetration.

A notable differentiator for ShopLC is its international live production capability. It is the only home shopping network to have broadcast multiple shows live from abroad, including from India, Italy, China and the USA. These productions have even offered ShopLC viewers the opportunity to attend in person, with travel packages tailored around the broadcasts.

ShopLC’s ambitions go beyond retail. The company is pursuing a social goal through its “Your Purchase Feeds” initiative, which donates a meal to a child in need for every item sold. The ultimate aim is to provide one million meals per day globally by 2031. In Germany alone, ShopLC has already donated hundreds of thousands of meals. Four years after its launch, ShopLC recently welcomed its 100,000th customer.

As it approaches its anniversary, the channel is also undergoing a change in leadership. A new managing director took the helm in mid-June, with Raghuveer Patnala stepping into the role.

To mark the occasion, the company will host a special customer event at its Düsseldorf studios on 4 July, reaffirming its commitment to expanding its presence in the German-speaking region.
