The first fiction series to be produced in all four official languages of Spain was unveiled today at the Conecta Fiction & Entertainment conference, bringing together three regional public broadcasters.The public broadcasters EITB (the Basque Country), 3CAT (Catalonia) and TV Galicia (Galicia) announced their new joint commission, drama series Pensión Incompleta, which will begin shooting in the three regions this summer and will premiere in 2026.The show is being billed as “the first fiction series filmed in all four official languages of Spain,” in which Galician, Basque, Catalan and Spanish all appear. The show also marks the first scripted coproduction between the three public broadcasters, all of which are part of the FORTA federation of TV and radio services in Spain’s autonomous regions.The project will also include A Coruña-based coproduction partner Voz Audiovisual, a Galician production company with credits including dark-comedy thriller Método Criminal (TVG), medieval-themed drama El Final del Camino (RTVE) and mystery thriller Néboa (La 1).Voz will manage the filming and production plan for Pensión Incompleta, which is described as a ‘road movie’ linking the three regions. The series, which is still in development, is also financed with the support of Galician cultural body Axencia Galega das Industrias Culturais (AGADIC).The alliance was unveiled today at Conecta here in Cuenca by Montse Besada, head of content services at TVG; Gorka García, artistic and entertainment director at ETB; and Oriol Sala-Patau, head of the fiction and film department at 3CAT.The story of Pensión Incompleta follows a group of travellers who become the prime suspects in the disappearance of iconic artworks. It will be an ensemble series, suitable for all audiences, said the partners during their session.“Pensión Incompleta represents a strategic commitment to innovation in public coproduction formats, with a structure open to future extensions of collaboration. It is not merely an entertainment product but a firm step toward greater cultural and industrial cooperation among regional public broadcasters with a public service mission,” according to the three partners.
