Three organisations that promote the delivery of Ultra High Definition have made a joint declaration to push for the Euro-wide adoption of the technology.The UHD Spain Association, the Forum Audiovisuel Numérique (FAVN) of France and the UHD Forum Italy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).The memorandum includes the intention to form a unified voice when lobbying European institutions.In a joint statement, the organisations said the primary goal of the MoU is to coordinate joint activities that facilitate the adoption of UHD as a technological standard at both European and global levels.The Memorandum outlines a series of specific activities aimed at knowledge sharing among associations. These include the exchange of information between the working groups of the different organisations, generate best practice guidelines, the implementation of joint training programs and the development of technical tests and pilots.The agreement also seeks to strengthen the position of the three associations as key stakeholders in front of European institutions and other international organizations. This will allow the associations to coordinate their efforts on regulatory, standardization and promotional matters, ensuring that European policies support the development and adoption of UHD.One of the memorandum’s objectives is to achieve greater integration in the development of standards and regulations, positioning Europe as a leader in audiovisual innovation. The coordination between UHD Spain, FAVN France and UHD Italy enhances Europe’s ability to compete in the global market and establish benchmarks in quality and interoperability.
