German TV platform HD+ has introduced new enhancements to its TV app, expanding access to content from RTL Deutschland’s streaming service HD+.The updated service allows HD+ satellite and HD+ IP users to catch up on missed programmes from nine RTL channels for up to seven days after their original broadcast, free of charge.Viewers can access shows from RTL HD, VOX HD, RTLzwei HD, Nitro HD, ntv HD, RTL Up HD, VOX Up HD, Super RTL HD, and Toggo plus HD through the HD+ guide or the app’s search function. Additionally, popular RTL shows, such as Let’s dance and Who wants to be a millionaire?, are prominently featured on the HD+ home screen. These programmes can be played instantly via the RTL+ app with a single click. The HD+ TV app already provides access to a vast library of missed programmes from numerous German broadcasters. Users can watch films, series, shows, documentaries, reports and talk shows from over 100 channels, with more than 120,000 programmes available free of charge.A key new feature of the HD+ TV app is its ability to indicate whether a specific programme is available for linear viewing, in a catch-up library or on a streaming service. Furthermore, the restart function allows viewers to start over programmes that have already begun, covering more than 100 channels. The HD+ TV app is also integrating RTL+ premium content, offering users access to an even broader selection of entertainment. Premium highlights are displayed on the app’s home screen, and relevant content can be found via the search function. Programmes requiring an RTL+ Premium subscription can be played through the RTL+ app, with the option to subscribe directly within the platform.“By integrating RTL Deutschland content into our HD+ TV app, we are creating a unified platform where viewers can easily find and access their favourite programmes, whether they are free or paid content,” said Andreas Müller-Vondey, Managing Director of HD Plus.Andre Prahl, Chief Distribution Officer at RTL Deutschland, added: “The integration of the RTL+ app into the HD+ offering makes accessing RTL+ premium content much more seamless. The restart function for past and current programmes enhances the convenience of using RTL Deutschland’s high-quality content.”HD+ also recently agreed with ProSiebenSat.1 to add the broadcaster’s streaming service Joyn to its TV app.
