Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson will officially be back together on set as Private Eyes next week.On Wednesday June 5, cameras will begin rolling on Private Eyes West Coast, the light crime drama for Global that reunites Priestley and Sampson as quick-witted sleuths Matt Shade and Angie Everett from the original Private Eyes in a new Canadian West Coast location.The ten-episode spinoff series, announced back in March, will see them taking on a fresh set of cases in Victoria, B.C., with the Pacific Ocean as their backdrop. Lionsgate Canada and Wild Cards studio Piller/Segan, which also made the original, are co-producing the show, with Lionsgate Television handling international distribution.Production is set to run through the summer, with Corus Entertainment’s Global promising first look-images at Shade and Everett’s new digs “soon.” Further casting and storylines will also follow at a later date.We can also reveal Priestley is now an executive producer on the show.The original Private Eyes ran for five seasons between 2016 and 2021, and was licensed into 180 territories worldwide. It starred Priestley as a former hockey player who teamed with tough-talking P.I. Everett to form an unlikely investigative powerhouse.In the U.S., it was first on Ion Television in 2018 and is now offered through services such as Hallmark+, Apple TV+ and Roku.Corus Entertainment is the commissioning broadcaster for West Coast with Rachel Nelson, VP, Original Programming and Head of Corus Studios, and Lynne Carter, Director, Original Programming, overseeing the production.Executive producers are Priestley, Sarah Dodd (Cardinal, Family Law), Jennifer Kassabian (Hudson & Rex, Degrassi: Next Class) and Jocelyn Hamilton (Cardinal, Burden of Truth), in addition to Piller and Segan. Kassabian and Dodd are showrunners.
