Delphine Ernotte Cunci as President of France Télévisions for a third consecutive five-year term, the French media regulator, ARCOM, Arcom has announced.The first president of France Télévisions to serve two terms, Delphine Ernotte Cunci, will now serve a third term.However, there is some uncertainty over the appointment given proposals to create a holding company to oversee the entire public broadcasting sector.Three other candidates stood for the post; Frédérique Dumas, producer and former Macron MP; Irène Grenet, former Deputy Director General of FranceTV Publicité; and Jean-Philippe Lefèvre, former station director of Public Sénat. Arcom justified its decision by citing a “context marked by major uncertainties.”In her manifesto, Delphine Ernotte Cunci, 58, emphaised that she wanted to prioritize the france.tv platform and rethink the organization of the public group around it. She also addressed the holding company proposal, saying it would act as a defence against privatisation.In addition to her role at France Télévisions, Ms. Ernotte Cunci has been serving as President of the EBU since January 1, 2021.
