Canal has released a further part of its US$300 million staggered investment and increased its stake in Viu to 30%. Its after Viu reached business targets set by its new investor on entry last May.In addition to the $300 million staggered funding, a further investment, at Canal+ Group option, could result in an increase of Canal+ Group’s stake in Viu to 51%.Canal now has a presence in more than 50 countries, including 9.5 million subscribers in France and 7.6 million in Africa. It is the leading television operator in French-speaking Africa and the largest shareholder in MultiChoice, the leader in pay-TV in English and Portuguese-speaking Africa.
