A+E Networks announced that Kannie Yu LaPack has been elevated to executive vice president, publicity, public affairs and social media for Lifetime, LMN and A+E Studios.Yu LaPack will continue to report to Michael Feeney, executive vice president, corporate communications, who made the announcement of her promotion.Yu LaPack is in charge of Lifetime and LMN’s bicoastal team focusing on consumer and trade publicity, awards, public affairs initiatives and social media. In her expanded position, she will additionally helm publicity efforts for A+E Studios’ extensive slate of series in development.“Kannie is a thoughtful and inspiring leader who has led her team to consistently raise the visibility of Lifetime and LMN across all platforms. As well, she has demonstrated incredible acumen in creating effective and meaningful public affairs campaigns throughout her career,” said Feeney. “As A+E Studios enters into a time of strong growth, I can think of no better person to lead these areas and drive success.”Yu LaPack has spent 18 years at Lifetime. Alongside her team, she is presently working on the launch of the forthcoming documentary “Where is Wendy Williams?” Recently, she has helmed press strategy for the popular documentary event “The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard,” which became the number one series on cable. Other recent projects include “Murdaugh Murders: The Movie.”Yu LaPack was also in charge of leading publicity and public affairs efforts for the Peabody Award-winning documentary “Surviving R. Kelly.” She has overseen press for various series as well, including “UnReal.” She was nominated for an Emmy in 2018 for Lifetime’s PSA created for the “Stop Breast Cancer for Life” campaign.Before joining Lifetime, LaPack worked as a publicist for ABC Family (now Freeform). She started in television as an intern for ABC’s communications department and later joined the corporate communications team. She previously served as the assistant to the west coast editor of Reader’s Digest.
