Variety: Olé! Comcast Newest Xfinity Pay-TV Package Is Designed for Soccer Fans, Priced at $85 per Month

Story from Variety:

Hoping to score with soccer aficionados, Comcast has assembled a gol-oriented video package built for the world’s most popular sport.

Comcast’s World Soccer Ticket, priced at $85 per month, provides access to more than 1,500 matches per year across a collection of nearly 60 English- and Spanish-language channels along with Peacock Premium. The live soccer programming spans Premier League, UEFA Champions League, Major League Soccer, LALIGA, Liga MX and the FIFA World Cup.

While Comcast claims World Soccer Ticket is “the industry’s first video package custom-built for soccer fans,” it’s worth noting that Fubo originally launched in 2015 with a streaming lineup pitched at soccer buffs before pivoting toward a broader pay-TV offering. Fubo is set to combine with Hulu’s live TV business, under a pending joint venture majority-owned by Disney.

World Soccer Ticket, as with Comcast’s other Xfinity TV plans, includes an X1 set-top device, which provides a “multiview” feature to watch multiple games simultaneously (pictured above) and offers select matches in 4K. The package includes the Sports Zone app for real-time stats, scores and betting odds. In addition, World Soccer Ticket is accessible at home and on-the-go via the Xfinity Stream app on platforms including Apple TV and iOS, Amazon Fire TV, Roku and Xumo streaming devices.

World Soccer Ticket includes live coverage of international leagues and competitions including the U.K.’s Premier League, UEFA Champions League, LaLiga, Liga MX, Concacaf Champions Cup, NWSL and more on the networks of ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, Telemundo, Univision, UniMás, ESPN, FS1, ESPN Deportes, Fox Deportes, Universo and TUDN. Nearly 200 additional Premier League matches are available through Peacock, plus select 4K games of the week on NBC. The package will present every match of next year’s 2026 FIFA World Cup in English on Fox and in Spanish on NBCUniversal’s Telemundo, Universo and Peacock.

Subscribers also have access to Major League Soccer’s “MLS 360” and “Sunday Night Soccer” within the channel guide on Xfinity X1 and the Xfinity Stream app, along with additional MLS coverage on the networks of Fox, FS1 and Fox Deportes throughout the season.

Plus, World Soccer Ticket includes access to more than 100 streaming channels within the channel guide, with channels such as NBC Sports Now, Fox Sports, Real Madrid TV, Telemundo Al Dia, Today All Day and Sky News.

To get even more soccer, Comcast noted that World Soccer Ticket customers (and other Xfinity subscribers) can add other streamers to their monthly bill via its recently launched Xfinity StreamStore. Services available to purchase through Xfinity StreamStore include Apple’s MLS Season Pass, Paramount+ and ESPN+, which provide “even more live soccer coverage from leagues like MLS, Serie A and Bundesliga,” the cable company said.

“Figuring out where to watch your favorite team or match is often a painful game of chance. Now, with World Soccer Ticket, there’s no better way to watch the beautiful game than with Xfinity,” said Jon Gieselman, Comcast’s chief growth officer for connectivity and platforms.
