German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland will show more Bundesliga matches in UHD/HDR and Dolby Atmos than ever before, including Friday evening games for the first time.From the 2025/26 season, Sky Sport will broadcast over 130 Bundesliga fixtures per year in UHD/HDR. In addition to the weekly Saturday afternoon feature, the Bundesliga “match of the week” and the 2. Bundesliga top fixture, the broadcaster is adding the Friday night game in enhanced picture quality.Sky is also extending Dolby Atmos coverage beyond the Saturday evening top match to include the new “Flutlicht-Freitag”, providing fans with a more immersive audio experience. The company says the 3D sound format brings viewers closer to the atmosphere in the stadium, from crowd noise to referee decisions.“We are delighted to bring the special atmosphere of the Friday night games into fans’ living rooms in UHD/HDR and Dolby Atmos. Supporters will not only see every detail in razor-sharp clarity but also experience the celebrations and stadium setting as if they were there,” said Alessandro Reitano, Senior Vice President Sports Production at Sky Deutschland.Arkin Kol, Head of Commercial Partnerships Europe at Dolby, added: “We are very pleased that Sky Deutschland is significantly expanding its range of Bundesliga matches with Dolby Atmos sound. With Dolby Atmos we transform live sport from mere broadcasts into a truly immersive experience. The spatial sound field and the precise localisation of effects enable viewers to experience passes, goal celebrations and referee decisions as if they were right there in the stadium.”The UHD/HDR and Dolby Atmos option is available via Sky Stream on the internet and via Sky Q on cable and satellite, provided subscribers have the necessary UHD and Atmos-compatible equipment.In total, Sky Sport will show 538 of the 617 matches from the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga from this season. Coverage includes all Friday and Saturday Bundesliga fixtures, every 2. Bundesliga game across the weekend, and Saturday’s Bundesliga top match live. Sunday Bundesliga matches will be available in full on a re-live basis after the final whistle.
