German sports channel sportdigital has secured the rights to broadcast Dutch top-flight football for another three years, extending its coverage of the Eredivisie, the KNVB Cup and the Dutch Super Cup until the end of the 2027/28 season. The Hamburg-based broadcaster has shown the Eredivisie since 2010, making it one of the longest-running and most popular properties in its schedule. Known for its attacking style of play, the league is among Europe’s highest scoring competitions and home to historic clubs PSV Eindhoven, Ajax Amsterdam and Feyenoord Rotterdam. Matches such as De Klassieker between Ajax and Feyenoord continue to attract strong interest from viewers.Last season provided one of the most dramatic finales in recent years, with PSV overturning a nine-point deficit to Ajax with just five games remaining to clinch the title. PSV, coached by former Bundesliga manager Peter Bosz, has further strengthened its squad with the signing of Alassane Pléa from Borussia Mönchengladbach. Other stars expected to shine this season include Steven Berghuis and Ko Itakura of Ajax, and Feyenoord’s top scorer Sem Steijn.“The Eredivisie belongs to the DNA of Sportdigital. For 15 years now we have achieved very good viewing figures with the Dutch league, the cup and the Super Cup, and have been able to inspire many fans. We look forward to another three years with this attractive evergreen of our football programming,” said Bendix Eisermann, Managing Director of sportdigital. The new season is already underway, with the third round of fixtures taking place this weekend.
