Broadband TV News: Deutsche Telekom introduces new MagentaTV stick

Story from Broadband TV News:

On 16 January 2025 Deutsche Telekom will introduce the second generation of its MagentaTV streaming stick, enabling access to its TV platform MagentaTV.

The device combines traditional television with a range of streaming services in one place, accessible via a personalised home screen with a quick-launch bar and unified search functionality.

Weighing 74 grams, the MagentaTV Stick is designed for portability and can be connected to any TV set through an HDMI port and a Wi-Fi network. The device is compatible with Telekom’s updated MagentaTV subscription plans and offers over 160 HD TV channels, time-shifted viewing, cloud-based TV recording, and access to on-demand content via MagentaTV+.

In addition, the stick supports streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video and RTL+, while providing access to thousands of apps through the Google Play Store. With 16 GB of storage, users can install streaming apps without worrying about space constraints, according to Telekom.

The MagentaTV stick supports 4K/Ultra HD, HDR, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos, for a cinema-like experience at home. Its performance is driven by a quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, and the Android TV operating system. The device can be purchased for €69 or rented for €3 per month.
