Broadband TV News: Ryszard Sibilski, founder of TVN, dies aged 69

Ryszard Sibilski, who was one of the founders of entertainment channel TVN and went on to manage EndemolShine in Poland, has died at the of 69.

His wife, vocalist Ewa Bem, and daughter Gabriella broke the news in a post on Facebook.

Sibilski had been a part of the Polish film and television industry for over 30 years.

He had begun is career as translator and travelled around Africa.

After returning to Poland, he began working at the Polish Jazz Association. In early 1990s has created and managed ITI Cinema, a film distribution company that held exclusive rights from the major US studios; Warner Brothers, Universal, Paramount, MGM and Columbia.

In 1998 was part of the team that launched Polish broadcaster TVN, now a part of Warner Bros Discovery.

Between 2006-2023 he managed Endemol Shine Poland, the World’s leader in scripted and unscripted content.

Most recently Sibilski was managing director at Jake Vision, which produces the Polish version of Dancing with the Stars.
