Broadband TV News: KPN secures Eredivisie online package

Story from Broadband TV News:

KPN has acquired an exclusive rights package for the Eredivisie and Keuken Kampioen Divisie.

From the 2025/26 season, subscribers will be able to keep up to date with their favourite teams. Goal alerts will notify fans of who has scored and give the ability to instantly watch the goal. Short highlights of each match will be available immediately on its conclusion.

Jochem de Jong, VP Partnerships, TV & Entertainment KPN said: “As a proud sponsor of Dutch football in its entirety and partner of ESPN where you can watch all matches live, KPN is the provider of Dutch football. From the new season, you will be even more on the ball with KPN with the Goal Alerts and highlights. In short, you can watch football now and in the future with KPN.”

The move steals a march on competitors including Ziggo at a time when younger audiences are being drawn to mobile viewing.

“Making Dutch football accessible to as many people as possible has been our mission since 2008,” said Frank Rutten, Eredivisie Media & Marketing. “We do this by broadcasting the most important Dutch football competitions live on our own ESPN channels, but also by working together with valued partners such as KPN. In this way, Dutch club football is and remains widely available to the millions of football fans in our country.”

KPN has used football as part of its marketing strategy for many years. It is the main sponsor of the Eredivisie and a partner of the Royal Dutch Football Association KNVB.
