German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF have acquired the free-TV broadcast rights to the UEFA Euro 2028 in the UK and Ireland via their joint sports rights agency SportA.The rights were acquired following a tender by European football association UEFA and the approval of the relevant bodies at ARD and ZDF. The agreement covers the platform-neutral rights to all 51 matches of the European Football Championship 2028 including all games of the German national team, if they qualify. Financial details were not disclosed.ARD and ZDF also hold the broadcasting rights to other matches of the national German football team until 2028. These include games in the UEFA Nations League as well as preparatory and qualifying matches for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and UEFA Euro 2028.The next international match will be broadcast live on ARD on 20 March 2025: In Milan, the German national team will face Italy in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League.
