Variety: Sony Pictures Television Hires Disney’s Jennifer Rogers Doyle as Head of Franchises

Sony Pictures Television has hired Disney TV exec Jennifer Rogers Doyle for the newly created position of executive vice president of franchise management.

In this role, which Rogers Doyle begins effectively immediately, the Disney vet will lead and oversee the franchise strategy of valuable intellectual properties (IP), collaborating closely with various teams to maximize revenue opportunities for IP, per the company’s TV division. These include Sony’s “Cobra Kai,” “For All Mankind,” “The Boys,” “Outlander,” “Messi and the Giants” and “Bewitched,” among others.

She will be based on the Culver City lot and report to Sony Pictures Television Studios President Katherine Pope.

Rogers Doyle comes over from Disney, where she most recently served as senior vice president of Disney Entertainment Networks franchise, licensing and integrated planning. This includes projects across Disney Branded Television, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, 20th Television & Animation, FX, and ABC for original content streaming across Hulu and Disney+.

During her 20 years at Disney, Rogers Doyle worked on preschool franchises including “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” “Spidey and his Amazing Friends,” “Sofia the First,” “Doc McStuffins” and “Super Kitties,” as well as tween hits “Hannah Montana,” “High School Musical,” “Descendants” and “Zombies.” In the older demographic, she has overseen “Percy Jackson,” “Aliens,” “Golden Girls,” “The Bear,” “Family Guy,” and “Futurama.”

Prior to Disney, Rogers Doyle worked at Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Landmark Entertainment Group.
