Broadband TV News: Museum TV becomes first free-to-air UHD channel in Estonia

Transmission company Levira has launched a UHD trial on the country’s DTT network.

Museum TV will be broadcast for at least the next six weeks with viewers encouraged to make comments on the service.

UHD is one of the most advanced formats in the television industry, and Levira is thrilled to lead the way in Estonia by providing this exceptional viewing experience. UHD delivers unparalleled detail, making it ideal for Museum TV, which brings the world’s top art masterpieces and events directly into viewers’ living rooms,” said Kristo Kaasan, Levira’s Technology and IT Director.

In addition to Museum TV, represented by Wide Media and Thema, Duo Media Networks TV channels Kanal 2, Duo 4, Duo 5 and Kanal 7 are also available free-to-air. This brings the total number of free-to-air channels to 11, including ETV, ETV2, ETV+, Ukraina24, and France 24.
