Broadband TV News: Vivendi considers London listing for Canal+

Story from Broadband TV News:

Vivendi is exploring a spin-off and potential London listing for its Canal+, when the business is split into four.

Bloomberg reported Thursday that a listing could happen before the end of the year, though a registration in Amsterdam remains a possibility. No final decision has been made on the timing or location of the listing.

Vivendi, controlled by French billionaire Vincent Bollore, has been working on a plan to spin off several units to close the discount in its market value. As well as Canal+, there would be separate listings for advertising arm Havas, an investment company that owns publisher, and retailer Lagardere.

Following Brexit, Britain’s markets watchdog has introduced new rules to attract a wider range of listings by reducing red tape and allowing companies to decide what information to disclose to potential investors.
