Deadline: Fremantle Expands Unscripted Development Team With 3 Key Hires

Story from Deadline:

Fremantle, the company behind top-rated unscripted shows such as American Idol, America’s Got Talent and Password, continues to expand its unscripted development team. On the heels of the company’s appointment of Jimmy Fox as EVP of Unscripted Development and Sales, Fremantle has named Megan McGrath Senior Vice President of Unscripted Development. Additionally, Fox has brought on Stephanie Valentin and Emily Bon as Vice Presidents of Unscripted Development. The three will team with Fox to strengthen existing properties and pave the way for new programs and formats.

“Fremantle is already the home to some of the world’s best-known titles in the unscripted world and our team is up to the challenge to identify the next wave of culture-defining series” said Fox. “With each of their unique backgrounds and individual perspectives when it comes to ideation, I’m inspired by our ability to create a diverse slate of projects across a wide spectrum of genres for the US market and beyond.”

McGrath is the creator and executive producer of the hit Netflix competition series Floor is Lava. Before joining Fremantle, she served as Head of Development & Current at Haymaker, Creative Executive at Paramount, and Creative Consultant at MGM. With a reputation for developing and producing breakthrough formats, her credits also include Are You the One? (MTV), Dating Naked (VH1), All on the Table (Discovery+), and Twinning (VH1).

Bon joins Fremantle from Main Event Media where as VP of Development she served as an Executive Producer on the true crime limited series, Daughters of the Cult for Hulu. During her time there, she created and oversaw the company’s podcast division, serving as a Producer on Girl in The Picture a feature documentary for Netflix, as well as its accompanying podcast series. Additionally, she was a Co-Executive Producer on the Netflix reality competition dating series Dated & Related.

Valentin also moves to Fremantle from Main Event Media where she most recently served as VP of Creative Development and Production. While there, she developed and packaged unscripted series for major networks and streaming platforms including co-executive producing the culinary competition series Eye Candy for Roku and co-executive producing Snapchat original series While Black with MK Asante, which earned her a Critics Choice Real TV Award.
