Marvel Studios keeps adding to its all-star cast for its upcoming The Fantastic Four movie as sources tell Deadline Emmy nominee Natasha Lyonne is set to join highly-anticipated Marvel pic. She joins a cast that already includes Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby is Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn is Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is Ben Grimm (aka the Thing). Julia Garner is also on board to play Silver Surfer while Paul Walter-Hauser, John Malkovich and Ralph Ineson are also on board.WandaVision helmer Matt Shakman is directing Fantastic Four off a script by Ric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. Production will begin this summer, and the film is set to bow on July 25, 2025.Marvel Studios had no comment. Plot details are being kept under wraps as are character details.Lyonne has been on a roll as of late after her Emmy-nominated role in Rian Johnson’s Poker Face, which she also produces through Animal Pictures banner. The series has been nominated across all major awards including the Peabody Awards, Golden Globes, and Emmys, with wins at the WGAs and the TCAs, and is in production on its second season. In addition to starring and producing, Lyonne writes and directs on the show.As for Animal Pictures, the banner recently signed a first looked deal with Sister.Prior to Poker Face, Lyonne saw huge success with the critically acclaimed Netflix series Russian Doll, created by and starring Lyonne, which won three Emmy Awards, and earned a total of 14 Emmy nominations including Comedy Series and Lead Actress, a Golden Globes acting nomination, two WGA nods and the TCA award for Outstanding New Program. Lyonne executive produces, writes and directs the series, and served as showrunner for the second season, which garnered praise for tackling weighty ideas like trauma and metaphysics with humor and sensitivity.2024 marked the release of Animal’s critically acclaimed Netflix Comedy special, Jacqueline Novak: Get On Your Knees, directed by Lyonne.Next up for Lyonne, she recently wrapped production on Taika Waititi’s theatrical adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s New York Times bestselling novel Klara and the Sun, produced by 3000 Pictures and Sony. The film stars Amy Adams and Jenna Ortega. On top of that she has the upcoming, His Three Daughters, which she produces and co–stars opposite Elizabeth Olsen and Carrie Coon. The film was acquired by Netflix at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival. In 2025, she will lend her voice to Paramount’s new animated Smurfs movie.
