Broadband TV News: ProSiebenSat.1 secures Hollywood content deal with NBC Universal

Story from Broadband TV News:

German media group ProSiebenSat.1 has signed a wide-ranging, multi-year agreement with NBC Universal Global TV Distribution, bringing nearly 2,000 hours of Hollywood content to its platforms Joyn, Sat.1 and ProSieben.

The exclusive partnership extends ProSiebenSat.1’s access to NBC Universal’s latest film and TV portfolio, including blockbuster hits from the 2024/25 slate. The agreement also includes expanded AVOD rights for ProSiebenSat.1’s streaming service Joyn.

In addition to first-run content, Joyn, Sat.1 and ProSieben will continue to have access to NBC Universal’s extensive library of classic and contemporary films, series and factual programming.

“With this deal, we’re offering our audiences top-tier Hollywood entertainment anytime – from blockbuster hits like Jurassic World Rebirth and How to Train Your Dragon to NBC Universal’s series and factual content. Our expanded AVOD rights for Joyn mean we can distribute this premium content flexibly and in line with our multi-platform strategy,” said Henrik Pabst, Chief Content Officer at ProSiebenSat.1.
