o2 Telefónica will launch a new streaming platform in Germany on 25 September 2024, replacing its previous TV offering.o2 TV is based on Telefónica Group’s global TV platform and includes over 130 HD channels, on-demand content, pay-TV channels, personalised recommendations and interactive functions that allow users to pause live TV programmes and reset them to the beginning.The service offers 100 hours of cloud space for TV recordings. Blockbuster films can be rented from the video library shortly after they are released. Up to four people can watch TV at the same time – both at home and on the move – on smart TVs, smartphones, tablets or laptops.Access is via the o2 TV app through any internet service provider. However, only o2 customers can sign up for the TV offer, for which they need a fixed-line or postpaid mobile tariff from o2 Telefónica. Depending on the scope of the subscription, o2 TV costs between €6.99 and €24.99 per month. Combination packages with Netflix and RTL+ are also available.Nothing will change for existing o2 TV customers for the time being. They can continue to use their current product as usual until further notice.
