Broadband TV News: W-Sport widens distribution in France with Molotov

W-Sport, the channel dedicated to women’s sport, has today launched its 24/7 linear channel on the Molotov streaming platform.

The agreement increases the availability of the channel to French audiences having first launched in the territory with the Free platform in 2023.

Kelly Butler, Chief Executive Officer, W-Sport, said: “This is another landmark moment in the evolution of the channel. Bringing W-Sport to the widest possible audience has always been our goal and launching with Molotov, adding another platform in France, is another step on that journey.”

Gregory Samak, Managing Director, Molotov added: “We are delighted to announce this distribution agreement with W-Sport, which will bring more women’s sports to our users. Through this distribution agreement, Molotov wishes to play a critical role in women’s sports growing audiences, making it available across all connected screens.”

W-Sport has an extensive portfolio of football content with up to ten live football matches broadcast each week. Audiences on Molotov will see the very best players and teams, every match week in England’s Women’s Super League (WSL), The United States NWSL, Germany’s Frauen Bundesliga, Serie A Femminile from Italy and Sweden’s Damallsvenskan.

Additionally, W-sport audiences will get live coverage from Women’s Volleyball, Bundesliga and Super League Triathlon. Further W-Sport also broadcasts selected live events in tennis, netball, field hockey and athletics.
