The satellite operator said the seven-year old satellite which served Europe, Africa and parts of the Asia-Pacific region experienced an anomaly on October 19, resulting in a loss of power and service to customers.“Based on the information available to us, we believe it is unlikely that the satellite will be recoverable,” Intelsat said in a statement.The US Space Force reported on Sunday it is tracking 20 debris objects.IS-33e was designed and manufactured by Boeing Space Systems. It was launched in August 2016 and entered service in January 2017. It was located at 60 degrees East.Intelsat representatives are in direct communication with all affected customers.
