Broadband TV News: Viasat True Crime launches in Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia

Viasat World has announced the launch of Viasat True Crime, in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia on 17 September 2024.

Earlier this year, True Crime made its debut in Poland with Canal+. Viasat World has now partnered with Vodafone in the Czech Republic, where the new channel will be included together with Epic Drama in the Family and AllinOne packages, as well as T-Mobile Czech Republic who will include the new channel in the Magenta TV L and XL packages. In Slovakia, Slovak Telekom will include Viasat True Crime in the Magio TV, Voný as package together with Epic Drama, and Swan. In Slovenia, T-2 Slovenia will include Viasat True Crime in the extended basic tier package – all operators will launch the new channel on 17 September. In Croatia, Viasat True Crime will soon launch on Croatian Telecom’s TV platforms.

In Poland, Viasat True Crime now reaches 6 million subscribers with Canal+, CDA, Orange, Play and UPC. In the first two and a half months after its launch, 2.3 million people have tuned in, with over 100,000 viewers watching daily. On average the target audience (age 16 to 59) are watching for an average of 48 minutes each day.

Viasat True Crime focuses exclusively on true crime programming, including marquee documentaries of shocking real-life cases, chilling true crime drama series, and gripping crime-fighting reality shows. Expert curation is a signature feature of this unique channel, made richer by telling stories across multiple content genres, providing viewers with a distinctive breadth of programming. Viasat World has furthermore secured the SVOD and FAST rights for much of its content.
