Warner TV will become the first Warner Bros. Discovery channel operating in the Czech Republic to broadcast free-to-air.It’s been granted a licence for terrestrial and satellite broadcasting from the Radio and Television Broadcasting Council.In the Czech Republic, Warner Bros. Discovery operates 18 pay TV linear channels (Discovery, Eurosport 1, Eurosport 2, Eurosport 4K, HGTV, TLC, Travel Channel, Investigation Discovery, Cartoon Network, Cartoonito, CNN, Food Network, Animal Planet, HBO & HBO 2 & HBO 3, Cinemax & Cinemax 2) and the HBO Max streaming platform.“We are very happy to bring our first free to air channel in the Czech Republic. With the launch of Warner TV, we will be completing our already extensive local linear offer, and we will bring to all viewers great movies and productions from our Warner Bros. The Czech Republic is one of our most important countries in the region and Warner TV represents a natural step, as all TV, movies and series enthusiasts in the market will be able to watch great content on our new free to air channel.”.No date has been given for the channel’s launch, but it is expected to be later in 2024. It’s the second market after Italy where Warner TV will be available free-to-air and the 11th market in EMEA where Warner TV is available via its linear network portfolio.Vaclav Palecek, Distribution and Business Development at Warner Bros.
