In a statement, BBC Studios said it would continue to serve local audiences in the EMEA region through our bespoke genre channels, the expansion of our digital service, BBC Player, and suite of FAST channels. “BBC Studios has strong partnerships with local free to air broadcasters, pay-TV networks and digital platforms across the region and many BBC programmes will also continue to be seen through these providers as well as through our own branded services.”Earlier this week Broadband TV News reported the closure of BBC Entertainment in the Dutch market, where carriage of the domestic BBC channels, including BBC One and Two, and BBC First is unaffected.BBC Entertainment launched in 2006 as a replacement for BBC Prime.
