Broadband TV News: Canal+ launches new sports channel in Czech market

Story from Broadband TV News:

A new sports channel has made its debut in the Czech and Slovak markets.

Canal+ Sport 2 launched Tuesday on the Canal+/M7-owned Skylink DTH platform, Skylink Live TV and Canal+ streaming platforms.

Its initial schedule consists of coverage from the WTA women’s tennis tour, starting with the WTA 500 in Brisbane, Australia.

The commentary team includes Radek Barkman, Ivan Petr and Dominik Križ. The editor is Karel Knap, one of the longest-serving tennis journalists in the region, who has been covering top tennis for almost three decades.

Until January 30, Canal+ Sport 2 can be watched by all Skylink subscribers, regardless of their package. When there is a second match of interest to Czech and Slovak viewers, it can be streamed on Skylink Live TV.

Rights to the men’s ATP tour are held by rival broadcaster Premier Sport 3, available from O2TV and Telly.
