German media company ProSiebenSat.1 and Astra satellite operator SES continue their long-standing cooperation.Through a new long-term contract, ProSiebenSat.1 secures the distribution of its channels in Germany and Austria via the Astra position 19.2° East in the coming years.For Germany, the agreement includes the extension of the use of capacities for the distribution of HD services, so that ProSiebenSat.1’s linear channels will continue to be available on Astra platform HD+. The companies also agreed to integrate the ProSiebenSat.1 streaming service Joyn into the HD+ TV app in future.In Austria, the agreement includes the extension of satellite capacities for offerings in SD and HD quality.The cooperation was also extended for the uplink services for ProSiebenSat.1 channels from the SES sites in Munich and Betzdorf (Luxembourg).“The new agreement with SES Astra is a great signal for viewers who receive our channels via HD+. On the one hand, it secures the long-term distribution of our linear HD channels via satellite, and on the other hand, users of the HD+ TV app will be able to conveniently access the numerous contents of our streaming platform Joyn directly from the HD+ offering.
