DAZN has paid the money it owed to the French Professional Football League (LFP) following the intervention of the President of the Paris Economic Activities Court. The €35 million represents half of the money owed to clubs under the contract. The LFP has now withdrawn from the summary proceedings it had initiated. The LFP had been in dispute with its broadcast partner with the streamer unhappy over the amount of piracy in the market and the lack of promotion for the licensed option by some league members. It is estimated that DAZN has around 500,000 subscribers in France, short of the 1.5 million that had been hoped for at the start of the season.Discussions are continuing to try to find an agreement on the outstanding issues between the LFP and DAZN.
