Reichert, who previously served as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Member of the Management, officially took over the position on 19 February 2025, succeeding Dr Matthias Kirschenhofer.Reichert has been a key figure at Sport1 since 2004, holding various leadership roles in sales, management, new business and investment. As CCO since 2019, he played a crucial role in expanding Sport1’s sales operations across TV and digital platforms. He also spearheaded the development of Sport1 Ventures and the new business programme, driving growth through strategic market opportunities and partnerships.Kirschenhofer will continue his role as Managing Director of holding company Sport1 Medien, a 50% shareholder in Sport1, where he remains responsible for strategic projects within the Sport1 Medien Group. He will oversee initiatives across the group’s various companies, including Plazamedia and Magic Sports Media.The leadership change comes during Sport1’s ongoing transformation into a broader sports and entertainment provider. Following Acunmedya’s acquisition of a 50% stake, Sport1 has been evolving its programming to include more entertainment content while maintaining its strong sports foundation. The Turkish investor’s experience in entertainment formats presents new growth opportunities for Sport1, according to the broadcaster.
