Variety: Warner Bros. Launches Water Tower Color Postproduction Facility

Story from Variety:

Warner Bros. is expanding its postproduction services with the opening of Water Tower Color on its studio lot in Burbank. Its services are available for both Warner Bros. and outside clients, as with Warner Bros. De Lane Lea in London.

“WTC is both a creative and technical enhancement for our filmmakers and producers experience here on the WB lot,” said Daphne Dentz, senior vice president, postproduction creative services, who will run the new facility.

Water Tower Color launches with a trio of color grading stages, four finishing suites for movies or episodic work) and dailies suites.

De Lane Lea colorists Asa Shoul (whose credits include “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” and “Baby Driver”) and John Daro (whose credits include Netflix animated features “The Sea Beast” and upcoming “In Your Dreams”) are now available for booking at De Lane Lea in London or Water Tower Color in Burbank. Paul J. Lavoie is the new facility’s senior digital intermediate producer and manager. Water Tower Color plans to hire additional talent.

In addition to color grading, Water Tower Color services including dailies, mastering, archive deliverables, and ALFRED for automated VFX pulls from anywhere in the world.

Recent mix work completed at sister company Warner Bros. Sound, which also provides services for Warners and outside clients, including Warners’ “Joker: Folie À Deux” and “Juror No. 2,” Apple’s “Wolfs,” Netflix’s “The Piano Lesson” and Universal’s “Wicked.” Series work included HBO’s “The Penguin” and Apple’s “Disclaimer.” Earlier this year, “Dune: Part 2” was mixed at the facility.
