Prime Video has launched a raft of add-on subscriptions and its Prime Video Store in New Zealand. These expand the selection of content available with the aim of making the platform into a one-stop entertainment destination for Amazon customers and for non-subscribing members.For a monthly subscription fee, payable directly to Prime Video, subscribing members can buy an additional 14 premium services. These include NBCUniversal’s Hayu, which includes popular reality franchises such as “The Real Housewives” and “Below Deck”; Lionsgate+, which includes major films like “Twilight” and several hit series from the “Power” universe; and MGM+, which includes evergreen films “Fargo” and “21 Jump Street.”Prime Video members will also have access to a broad range of series and movies from popular add-on subscriptions such as Crunchyroll, DocPlay, Love Nature and iWonder. Others include BeIN Sports, Mubi, Rialto and LGBT-themed OUTtv.Prices range from NZ$3.99 ($2.37) per month for Lionsgate” OUTtv, Rialto and Love Nature to NZ$14.99 ($8.89) per month for BeIN Sports and Mubi.The functionality includes seven-day free trials on all subscriptions, ease of downloading, streamlined watchlists and consolidated search and browsing.Open to non-members (but requiring the creation of an account on primevideo.com or the Prime Video app) Amazon’s Prime Video Store will give customers in New Zealand the opportunity to rent or buy new release movies from major Hollywood studios, including Warner Bros., NBCUniversal and Sony Pictures Entertainment.“We are [expanding] our premium entertainment offering with the addition of add-on subscriptions, and thousands of movies to rent or buy – so customers can personalize their viewing experience all directly on Prime Video,” said Daniel Slepak, head of marketplace Prime Video Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
