Variety: Warner Bros. Discovery Appoints Allan Sperling as Group Vice President of Programming, Networks and Streaming in Nordics

Warner Bros. Discovery has appointed veteran executive Allan Sperling as its new group vice president of programming, networks and streaming in the Nordic region.

Sperling, who previously held prominent roles at MultiChoice Group and Showmax in South Africa as well as at Viacom International in London and Amsterdam, will be based out of Stockholm. He will be overseeing strategic program planning and operations for the company’s channel portfolios across Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.

More specifically, Sperling “will be instrumental in shaping the vision and strategic direction for Warner Bros. Discovery’s Nordic channels and platforms,” according to a statement. His responsibilities will include leading the development of local Nordic productions for Max, aiming to tailor its content offering specifically for the Nordic audiences.

“We are thrilled to have Allan joining our team at Warner Bros. Discovery,” said Christina Sulebakk, EVP, managing director of Warner Bros. Discovery Nordics, in the statement. “His profound expertise and international leadership experience will be invaluable assets as we continue to drive growth and innovation across our Nordic operations” she added, further noting that “Allan’s strategic vision for our channels, coupled with his plans to spearhead local production efforts for Max, will undoubtedly lead our business to new heights in this dynamic media landscape.”
