Broadband TV News: Champions League returns to Digi Sport

Digi Sport Romania will broadcast the next three seasons of UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League.

Digi has signed up to the next three seasons of the competition including the new format Champions League.

The 2024-2025 season brings a significant change in the configuration of the competition system: moving from the group stage with 32 participating clubs to an expanded league consisting of 36 teams. It means the number of stages will increase from 6 to 8, and the total number of matches played will reach 189, with 64 more matches than in the previous format.

Digi will broadcast the competition across its four channels.

The changes to the structure of the competitions will provide even more diversity and drama, and Digi Sport will be the perfect host to experience the excitement of European football together.” said Mircea ?ai, Digi Sport Project Manager.

Subscribers will also be able to watch the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League. The UEFA Europa League system will be aligned with the Champions League, with 189 matches scheduled next season. At the same time, the UEFA Conference League will include an extended league of 36 teams and 6 stages before the knockout stage.
