Story from Deadline:

She has been named Group Vice President, Programming, Nordics at Warner Bros Discovery. This will see her leading strategic direction and budgetary framework for content spend, and on the programming and planning operations for Warner Bros. Discovery’s linear channel portfolios in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.

Lindström will join Warner Bros Discovery’s Nordic leadership team and report to Christina Sulebakk, Executive Vice President and Managing Director Nordics. Additionally, she’ll will work closely with Phil Gundelach Brandstrup, Group Vice President, Original Production Networks and Streaming at Warner Bros Discovery Nordics. Lindström will assume her new role at the end this month, based in Stockholm.

As we revealed last month, Lindström exited her post as Head of Originals Nordics for Prime Video ahead of a move to a new senior programming post. The well-respected exec has also worked as CEO of Endemol Shine Nordics and held senior posts at Viaplay predecessors MTG and NENT, Banijay Nordisk Film TV, SVT, Nickelodeon and TV4.

“We are delighted to welcome Karin to Warner Bros Discovery Nordics,” said Sulebakk. “She is a highly talented and experienced industry executive who, in her new role, will focus on developing and implementing our content investment strategy, while optimizing the performance and positioning of our linear channel portfolios.”

Lindström said Warner Bros Discovery had built “such a strong slate of Nordic programs, streaming titles, and sports,” pointing to the likes of Wahlgren’s World in Sweden, Over the Atlantic in Finland and Sweden, Celebrity Hunted in Denmark and Norway, and Jon’s Farm in Norway.

“With Warner Bros Discovery’s powerful storytelling, I look forward to contributing to continued commercial success and engaging broad audiences across platforms,” she added. “Content remains the foundation, and data is the driver. Staying close to customer behavior across all aspects of content consumption will be our focus going forward.”

Lindström was replaced at Amazon MGM Studios as Head of Nordic Originals by Emilia Widstrand following her exit.
