Fans who sometimes rely on Peacock to get their fix of series like The Way Home and those ubiquitous feel-good movies will have to subscribe to a new platform: Hallmark shows are moving off the NBCUniversal streamer by month’s end.The decision isn’t exactly surprising, since Hallmark Media launched its own service and membership program in September. Among the new offerings on Hallmark+ is the original series The Chicken Sisters — which has already been renewed for a second season — and the unscripted series Celebrations with Lacey Chabert.““Hallmark and Peacock have enjoyed a successful partnership since 2022,” according to a Hallmark statement. “As Hallmark has since launched its own standalone streaming service, Hallmark+, we evaluated how each of our services provides added value to our subscribers, and to that end, the decision was made to sunset Hallmark programming on Peacock. Peacock and Hallmark will continue to respectively entertain their viewers year-round with exclusive, feel-good content they love.”.”Last July, Hallmark Media announced plans for its new platform that would cost $80 a year and offer the “very best of Hallmark with new exclusive content and membership benefits program.” That includes e-cards and “surprising gifts.” In other words, members can earn reward points based on content that they are watching. Those points, or rewards, can be used in Hallmark stores.“It’s symbiotic between streaming and our retail and digital footprint,” Chief Brand Officer Darren Abbott told reporters last year. “We give content to inspire their lives and their rewards to help them live it.”
