Hollywood Reporter: Lionsgate Names Digital Media Vet Brad Haugen to Drive Original Content Expansion

Story from Hollywood Reporter:

Lionsgate has named digital media veteran Brad Haugen to spearhead original online creation as executive vp, digital strategy & growth.

Most recently CEO of Will Smith’s Westbrook Media, Haugen will help Lionsgate expand content production and marketing on digital platforms via brand partnerships and other storytelling tools in the digital media space.

“Brad’s expertise in digital media and the creator economy are a great fit for our entrepreneurial culture, and he will supercharge our efforts to bring one of the world’s most valuable portfolios of brands and franchises to top digital media platforms and a whole new generation of talent,” Jim Packer, Lionsgate president of worldwide television distribution, and Brian Weinstein, co-CEO of 3 Arts Entertainment, said in a joint statement on Tuesday.

Haugen has also created premium content for Meta, YouTube, Snapchat and X in partnership with Hollywood A-listers like Justin Bieber, Ryan Reynolds, Megan Thee Stallion and others. He arrives at Lionsgate as the studio looks to expand in branded content and other digital initiatives to drive new incremental revenues from its film and TV library via YouTube, Snap, Meta, TikTok and other online platforms.

“I look forward to working closely with Brian, Jim and the Lionsgate and 3 Arts teams,” Haugen said in his own statement as he gets set to work closely with 3 Arts Entertainment and its talent roster. While at Westbrook Media, Haugen had credits like Red Table Talk on Meta and iHeart and the Fresh Prince Reunion Special on Max.

Haugen also worked previously with ATTN: co-founders Matthew Segal and Jarrett Moreno on a digital media company that produced branded content on social media channels in partnership with Netflix, Spotify, HBO, Microsoft, GE, Adobe, T-Mobile and others.

Earlier, Haugen served as a chief marketing officer at Scooter Braun Projects, and has shepherded marketing and business development initiatives for Ariana Grande, Tori Kelly, PSY, Martin Garrix and Carly Rae Jepsen.
