Warner Bros Discovery has promoted Anouk Aarón to general entertainment content production leader for Latin America and US Hispanic, replacing Ricardo ‘Richi’ Pichetto, who is leaving the company.Aarón, who has been working alongside Pichetto since 2017, will now be responsible for the production of all fiction and non-fiction content in these markets for Warner Bros Discovery’s pay TV and streaming brands. In addition, she will also lead the productions developed by Warner Bros Discovery for third parties.Aarón will report directly to Tomás Yankelevich, exec VP and chief content officer of general entertainment at Warner Bros Discovery in LatAm and US Hispanic. Pichetto, for his part, is leaving the company “to embark on a new professional path.”The executive played a significant role in the creation and consolidation of the Warner Bros Discovery local production hub throughout Latin America prior to the launch of the HBO Max streaming platform.“Richi’s work over the years has been invaluable,” said Yankelevich. “Under his leadership, we went from being a company that only purchased canned content to a large content factory. Against all odds, we managed to turn around and take a free-to-air TV channel in Chile from fourth to first place. We generated hundreds of productions for all our brands, including exponential growth when we were challenged to lead content for HBO Max.”Before joining the company as head of content production, Pichetto was director of content for Argentine production company Cuatro Cabezas and continued as a board member when it was acquired by Eyeworks. Later, he was MD of Warner Bros International Television Production in Buenos Aires.Aaron, for her part, joined Warner Bros Discovery in 2017 as director of production for Latin America, from where she led, together with Pichetto, the production processes for shows such as Las Phases de Luna and Brutal Pact: the Murder of Daniella Perez.Previously, Aarón worked in Spain for Eyeworks and other independent production companies, then she was general manager of production for Eyeworks in Argentina, and later general manager of production and content for Warner Bros International Television Production in Buenos Aires. The move continues the restructuring phase that Warner Bros Discovery is going through in the LatAm region, as it prepares to launch Max, the new platform that will replace HBO Max and will include content from Discovery and the rest of the group’s brands, during the last quarter of the year.
