Minister for Media Catherine Martin will bring two memos to a meeting of the Cabinet on the implementation of the recommendations outlined in the external reviews of RTÉ.It is understood that eight recommendations will require legislative changes, while a further seven can be done administratively.The update is expected to result in the allocation to RTÉ of €20 million which was previously pledged by the Government.A new structure will be put in place to oversee the ongoing progress of RTÉ's implementation plan and it will be led by the Department of Media and NewEra.Ms Martin plans to make legislative changes to also give the Comptroller and Auditor General oversight of RTÉ.It will be contained in the new broadcasting bill that will be published in the third quarter of this year.The RTÉ implementation plan pledges to publish its leadership team’s salaries in its 2023 annual report.On salaries above €200,000, RTÉ said every effort will be made to facilitate subject to data protection law.Ms Martin said last week that a decision on the future funding of RTÉ would be taken before the summer recess.
