The Vivendi company and PPF Cyprus Management Limited have notified Austria’s Federal Competition Authority that they each intend to increase their existing shareholdings in Viaplay Group AB to more than 25% each.Canal+ runs a streaming service in Austria that features original content from its studios and partners including BBC, National Geographic and Viaplay.In July, Canal+ has acquired a 12% stake in Viaplay for an undisclosed fee.The move followed an announcement by Viaplay that it intended to move to a new country-based operating model. In December the Group announced a SEK 20bn restructuring plan.Broadband TV News has contacted Canal Plus and Viaplay for comment.
