Broadband TV News: Carriage dispute flares up in Slovakia

Story from Broadband TV News:

The Slovak national commercial broadcaster TV Markiza has terminated its distribution contracts with two operators. As a result, reports Zive, Antik and DSi Data will no longer be able to offer their subscribers the channels Marliza, Doma, Dajto and Markiza Krimi after November 30.

It adds that Markiza disputes the fact that its channels are not part of all TV packages sold by them. If customers do not want them packages are lowered in price.

In Antik’s case, the package without Markiza and Joj channels costs almost €7 a month less.

Zive notes that back in June UPC Slovakia also indicated it would like to offer cheaper packages that do not include Markiza channels.
