Pos has struck a development deal with the Big Brother and MasterChef producer via his label MPLab and will forge non-scripted formats with broad international appeal alongside Banijay Chief Content Officer, Development, James Townley.The rights to all IP created will sit with Banijay and will be available to its production labels and distributor Banijay Rights.Pos is the Dutch creator of The Traitors, the smash hit that has been successful around the world and was the best-selling format last year, usurping The Masked Singer, according to K7. He forged The Traitors for IDTV, a company owned by Banijay rival All3Media, and worked with creative director Jasper Hoogendoorn to develop the idea with the RTL Creative Unit. The Traitors is sold by All3Media International. The game in which faithfuls have to sniff out traitors airs on the BBC in the UK and Peacock in the U.S., filmed in a castle in the Scottish Highlands.Pos also directed season one of Banijay’s Big Brother in the Netherlands, Prinsengrachtconcert (a classical festival on Amsterdam’s canals), Maestro and the Popsecret concerts with Robbie Williams and Alicia Keys. Additionally, he worked on the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, and runs an ad agency, Brand New Telly, and event company, Kingcanary.He called Banijay “the home of the superbrand.”He added: “With a vast production network and leading distribution unit, it is the perfect testing ground for new formats, and in partnering with James and the group’s producers globally, I look forward to exploring, and rolling out, an ambitious development slate internationally.
